Naomi Cook

Naomi trained at L'Ecole du Ballet du Nord and Central School of Ballet and has danced with companies such as DV8 in Living Costs, Maiden Voyage Dance Company in Quartet for 15 Chairs at the Southbank Centre and both current and new repertoire with Springs Dance Company. Naomi joined Springs in 2007 and became Assistant Director in 2010. Productions include The Wemmick Story, Bread of Life, Journey of the Magi, The Selfish Giant and The Magic Paintbrush. Since 2012 Naomi has also worked as Rehearsal Director for Maiden Voyage Dance Company in Belfast, including with choreographers Suzannah McCreight, Dylan Quinn, Enrique Carbrera and Luke Murphy. Naomi enjoyed a fruitful year of mentoring with Louise Jeffreys, Director of Programming at the Barbican, as part of Dance UKs Dancers’ Mentoring Scheme 2012-13. Naomi teaches ballet and contemporary as a freelance artist and has in the past taught for Central School of Ballet, London Studio Centre, Adult Learning Lewisham, Artis Specialists, Help the Aged and many more. Naomi teaches Ballet and Schools Teaching Practice for the Springs' Apprenticeship Scheme. She enjoys nurturing dancers towards a positive way of working, and giving them a deeper understanding of movement that can span different techniques.
